JCHCAR supplies Mexican importers and dealers via Manzanillo and Lázaro Cárdenas. For Mexico-resident customers using Mexican plates temporarily in the U.S., we state the real limits — with no promise of permanent U.S. import.

Preferred ports: Manzanillo and Lázaro Cárdenas. RORO or container per PI; EV/PHEV on Class 9 DG. Veracruz/Altamira (Gulf) are secondary. Mexican homologation, duties, and plates are the Mexican importer’s responsibility.
Vehicle importers, used-car dealers, and workshop/service networks in Mexico. We do not serve retail end consumers or “personal U.S. import” shoppers.
Per CBP, a nonresident may bring a foreign vehicle for personal use for up to about one year; it must be exported by the deadline, cannot be sold in the U.S., and does not become a U.S. state registration. Eligibility turns on genuine Mexico residence — a Mexican passport alone is not enough. U.S. residents cannot turn this into permanent U.S. ownership.
The U.S. federal limit is the temporary-stay / export deadline. Separately, Mexico’s annual refrendo and state verificación (where required) often need the vehicle kept current — frequently with an in-Mexico inspection. That is the usual source of “drive it back to Mexico” anecdotes, not a single federal U.S. form. Confirm with your broker, CBP, and the Mexican state vehicle authority.
For programs that actually meet FMVSS/EPA and formal U.S. entry, Pacific reference ports are Los Angeles/Long Beach, Oakland, and Seattle — not a shortcut for non-homologated China-spec cars. Atlantic/Gulf is out of scope for this guide.
